and "Minas em Serenata" events, sponsored by "SESC"-
Serviço Social do Comércio (Commerce Social
Services) with performances in more than one hundred towns
in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The band performs biweekly
four-hour concerts, entertaining the public with music in
all genres. Waldir Silva and Mauro Silva compose a song true
to the traditions, history, and sentiments of each town they
perform in. The mayor of each town honored is given a framed
copy of the lyrics during the recital. Many of these towns
have adopted their song as their local anthem.
